Business Development - Design & Specification

We currently have an opportunity for a Business Development Design & Specification personnel to join our Victorian Sales Team for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. This key role will require the successful person to promote the uses and advantages of Clipsal products, including the Clipspec program to Architects, Boutique Builders, interior designers and other relevant industry influencers.

Reporting to the Sales Manager – Residential Builders, your key responsibilities will include:
•Understand each product and uses
•Promote and educate Architects, specifiers, boutique builders, interior designers and relevant industry influencers to new products and solutions
•Support stock and pricing issues
•Assist with the turnover and profits on an on-going basis
•Attend and participate in trade functions
•Achieve set revenue targets (State and Territory)
•Understand and comply with company HSE standards and policies
Qualifications

Success in this role will require the following attributes and skills:
•Demonstrated sales and or marketing ability either by proven successful work experience or tertiary qualification
•Understanding of the Electrical Industry or associated industry
•Passion for sales
•Demonstrable ability to communicate with a wide variety of customers
•Natural flair for developing relationships with both your clients and internally in the broader Merritt Control business.
•Strong communication, sales and negotiation skills will be complemented by your commercial acumen
•Current drivers license

We are seeking a Corporate Account Manager. This is a sales account management position and is a launch point for experienced sales professionals seeking growth and leadership roles within Merritt Control. The Corporate Account Manager is a quota bearing sales role, with a specific district/territory and full responsibility for supporting existing end-user clients and partners, forming new business relationships, discovering new opportunities, generating proposals and closing business; using the best telecommunications and technology tools available.

If you have inside or outside sales experience in data center environments (physical infrastructure, hardware, servers, networking, software or professional services), you will find this both a challenging and rewarding position in one of the largest customer segments in the IT industry. Qualifications

In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
-A Bachelor's degree
-At least 2-3 years of successful data center sales experience in a multi channel sales model
-A consultative, value-added sales approach
-Discipline and energy to maintain consistently high levels of activity
-Knowledge of IT environments, data center facilities and technologies in use today
-Experience with electrical and mechanical requirements of critical computing environments
-A working knowledge of business processes, profit and loss, market strategy, and financial terms
-Experience in use of CRM applications for time, contact and sales process management
-The ability to use a telephone, computer based tools and online presentations to drive business
-A commitment to customer support and the ability to maintain productive business relationships
-Prior experience selling APC products, services, solutions, or similar data center products is highly desirable

Responsibilities and Duties
 Participate in the generation of single line drawings, layouts, schedules, routings,
distribution and motor control schemes, and inter-connection diagrams for power,
lighting and grounding systems.
 Perform power system studies such as load flow, short-circuit and motor starting
using ETAP or SKM.
 Actively participate in and support the Quality and HSE Management System.
 Maintain clean work areas by performing daily housekeeping as required.
 Ensure the processes and procedures required for the execution of work are used.
 Report existing or potential nonconformities to Supervisor, Quality or HSE.
 Other duties as required by Supervisor.

 Technical school training or equivalent.

Experience
